A half-day safari in Minneriya National Park offers an exciting opportunity to witness Sri Lanka’s rich wildlife and scenic landscapes in a compact yet fulfilling experience. The highlight is the chance to see large herds of Asian elephants, especially during the dry season (July to October), when they gather around the Minneriya Tank to feed, bathe, and socialize. Along the way, you may also encounter other wildlife such as sambar deer, spotted deer, toque macaques, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds including peacocks, eagles, and storks. The safari takes you through grasslands, forest patches, and wetland areas, providing diverse habitats and excellent photo opportunities.
